Fiji’s events calendar is loaded with festivals and celebrations to delight and inspire you. Flamboyant cultural festivals are held throughout the year, many of which are Hindu festivals put on by the Fijian-Indian community. Experience the week-long carnival-type festivals in Nadi, Suva and Lautoka, or for something more cultural head to Savusavu or Levuka. There are 12 public holidays in the Fijian calendar, some of which feature traditional dance and other public displays. Yachting regatta’s and music festivals are also popular, and there are regular rugby, golf and surfing tournaments. Since reopening in 2014, the Grand Pacific Hotel has swiftly become renowned as a venue of choice for high quality, seamlessly executed conferences and events.
With a total dedicated floor area of 960 square meters, we offer the newest and the largest hotel conference facility in Suva and are the ideal venue for meetings for up to 600, dinners for 400 and cocktail functions for 550 guests.
Britannia Ballroom offers six hundred square meters of pillar-less meeting space and an additional 297 square meters of adjacent pre function area, whilst the Matua Room is 291 square meters with a large external veranda area that overlooks Suva Harbour and our lawns and gardens.
These primary function rooms, which can be divided into five smaller areas, are complemented by the Cession Board Room, Rara Lounge and our extensive grounds and poolside area which can serve as ideal breakout areas. Our team is very experienced in catering for a large variety of events that range from small board meetings, residential conferences, product launches, business lunches or dinners and cocktail functions.
In recent times Grand Pacific Hotel has hosted a number of major international summit meetings, which in some instances have included the full “buy out” of the hotel for sole use by the organisation, a major benefit when high levels of security, discretion and focus are required. Grand Pacific Hotel is also an ideal and popular venue for social catering for family gatherings, celebrations and of course weddings.
